Pre-Release Update
Boring Technical Stuff First - ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
I'm happy to say that I am releasing Faster tomorrow! The game is ready to go live right now, but I am heading off to bed and I want to spread the word as soon as the game is released. I learned the true value of extreme polish while creating this game. I was done with making games that seem... unfinished or ugly. In the past I have focused all of my efforts on fun gameplay and replay ability, however I have learned that if the game doesn't have a hook, similar to an essay, no one will want to play it.
The most difficult thing I have encounter in game design, especially with this product is making a TUTORIAL! I have a lot of respect now for the seamless and fun tutorials I have experienced in the past and even for the badly done ones. I worked to make the tutorial fast, efficient, and enjoyable. If people don't FULLY understand the game you have created within a few minutes, they will almost certainly put it down.
This game is the summation of everything I have learned thus far in game design, however it is more straight forward that my previous games which is a good thing for 2 reasons. Less confusion, less redundant tedious coding.
I learned that depth can come not only from complex mechanics and systems, but also from difficult goals in an easy and fun game.

******IMPORTANT!!!!********
I had an experience like no other today. I develop on my school Mac Book, however I needed to make sure everything ran well on Windows before launch. When I put my headset on and the music started playing... the game was running at 200 frames... and I was in the least interesting part of the game, the tutorial. I was absolutely and completely immersed beyond anything I felt while testing it on my Mac with headphones and 50 frames.
Ive been making games for 9 months straight every day for hours and I know that what I experienced on my PC was what my entire journey has been leading toward. I have modest expectations, but high hopes. I love making games, and I love those who play my games. That means you, if anyone reads this, I love you.
