In These Caves
A downloadable game for Windows and macOS
Story -
Based on the true story of the disappearance of a professional spelunking team in Coltstand, Arizona in 2007. The only people who looked for them sent a drone into the caves. Four days later the entire search team committed suicide via hanging. This has hence been known as the Limewell Incident. The recording of the drone's video feed was recently released online. Here it is.
Mechanics -
Search the cave to discover evidence of spelunkers to bring to the police.
Use the EMP to temporarily disable movement of any entities within the cave.
AVOID ANY UNKNOWN ENTITIES WITHIN THE CAVE SYSTEM.
Entities will not move while being observed.
Controls -
WASD - Movement
Left Control - Descend
Space - Ascend
F - Pickup Evidence
Mouse 1 - Release Electromagnetic Interference (You only have one shot)
**The cave generation is expensive so we recommend at least 4 GB of RAM**

While I do like the “ending” here, I think this game would benefit from including the backstory in the game itself. If expanded to include the backstory, the game would have a motivation. As it is, it’s hard for the player to know what they’re supposed to do and why they’re there.
